Psychotherapy and Counselling
PSYCHOTHERAPY is a therapeutic alliance between the practitioner and the client. It provides a safe and confidential space in which the client's problems, concerns, distress, or wishes can be explored on a weekly basis.
As an Integrative Psychotherapist I work with what you bring in the therapeutic relationship. This may mean looking at how your problem affects you physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually, as well as understanding how past experiences may be linked with and have influenced your present life. In becoming aware of your dynamic, you could make a more informed choice in your life.
In the course of our relationship, uncomfortable past experience may be evoked; though this may be challenging and experienced as painful, the final aim is to promote your wellness and creative expression, and a more fulfilling way of living for yourself and in your relationships.
COUNSELLING is often short-term therapy. It is more directive and focused on dealing with a specific problem. If concern over other problems should arise, awareness may be directed to it, though whether to explore it or not is your choice.
